Textbookprofits.com is owned and operated by myself, Brandon Houle.  I live in Winchester, Virginia and have been thinking for ways to help college students to save or even make money during school.  The idea came when I was living in my college apartment off campus; I was dirt broke and almost couldn't pay my rent when the company I was working for went out of business.  I was 2 months behind in rent and was living off of bread; walking everywhere because I couldn't afford gas or insurance for my car.  I never mooched for food, but always wanted a way to help people like me avoid situations of destitution. 

That horrible chapter of my life luckily only lasted about 5 months until I was able to land a minimum wage job that would let me work as many hours as I wanted to.  A few 60-80 hour weeks went by and I was then able to make back rent, buy real food and get my car back on the road and running again.  Then I landed a career which completely put any hopes of entreprenuership out the window.

Putting aside the career, the whole idea or mission behind making this website is to provide a low cost solution to college students seeking a way to make money on the internet using the resources that they have.  Using our site, a student can utilize the backend infrastructure of the site to keep track of inventory, keep track of their sales and potentially setup their shop for selling retail or used items.
